Meeting
BASSANO DEL GRAPPA (VI) – Via Piave 2 – Velodrome “MERCANTE”

withdrawal of the race packet:      Friday July 13th, 2011 from 16.00 until 19.00
                                                     Saturday  July 14th  2011 from 05.00 until 08.00
 
Departure:
The departure will be from the “Ponte Vecchio” (Ponte degli Alpini), in Bassano del Grappa on the side of Via Angarano fractionally (so-called "french") starting from 5.30 am until 8.00 am, each competitor prior to departure will have to punch in of inspection issued at registration.

Arrival:
The arrival was set for Velodrome "Mercante" with a full lap of the track.

Warning: for those arriving by car you should park near the velodrome "MERCHANTE". The transfer path to the starting point at the Old Bridge (Ponte degli Alpini) is appropriately marked.

Rating:
The Monte Grappa Challenge walk free without any charts and / or that lap. There are four paths, respectively: Base (117 km altitude 3260 m), Medium (174 km altitude 4900) Strong (231 km altitude 6450) Extra Strong (2276 km altitude 8100 m) that involves the provinces of Vicenza, Treviso and Belluno; enrollment is not necessary to specify the path chosen

Gates:
The maximum time to complete any course is set for 24.00.
Who should get the arrival time beyond this limit will lose the right to issue the certificate of participation.
It also fixes the following gates:
Checkpoint 1: Hotel Da Romano - Paderno del Grappa - 9.00
Checkpoint 2: Cima Grappa: from 1st  side 12.00; from 2nd side 17.30, from 3rd side  21.00 hours, 21.30 hours from 4 ^ side, from 5 hours 23 ^ slope , 15;
Checkpoint 3: Gelateria Hottonia: from 2nd  side  14.00; For 5th side 21.00
Checkpoint 4: Chalet Stella Alpina: 15.00 hours
Checkpoint 5: Hosteria “Dal Menta”: for 3rd  side 18.00;  for 4th side 19,00.

Registration Opening:
1st February, 2012

Registration Closure:
31th May, 2011 : no penalties
1st June – 16th July :  € 5,00 penalty

Registrations will be accepted on Saturday 14th July until the maximum participant number of 300 is reached.
If the maximum number is reached prior to Saturday 14th July, registrations will not be accepted.

Registration can be made either online, via fax or by post to the address/phone as detailed above. Proof of payment (receipt) must be attached/included for fax/post registrations (registration which do not include proof of payment will not be processed)

Registration Fees:

FROM February 1st, 2012 TO 31th May 2012
    1) Euro 20.00 for Italian athletes licensed with a sports company enrolled in a cycling federation;
    2) Euro 30.00 for all
foreign athletes  and Italian athletes who are not registered with a sports company enrolled in a cycling federation.

FROM June 1st, 2012 TO 14th July 2012
    3) Euro 25.00 for Italian athletes licensed with a sports company enrolled in a cycling federation;
    4) Euro 35.00 for all
foreign athletes  and Italian athletes who are not registered with a sports company enrolled in a cycling federation.

Registration fees under paragraphs 2 and 4 are inclusive of daily enrollment and insurance coverage according to the condition of the Italian Cycling Federation.

All fees include race registration, certificate of participation, refreshments near Cima Grappa and pasta party on arrival

GENERAL CONDITIONS
Art.1 The brevet Monte Grappa Challenge can be entered by any cyclist who holds a license issued by a sporting society recognised by a cycling federation
Art. 2. A randonnee brevet can be entered by any cyclist who holds a license issued by a sporting society or entity recognised by a cycling federation with an insurance policy being the responsibility of the sporting society/entity on behalf of the licensee
Art. 3. On the day of competition of the randonnee the participant must be a minium of 18 years old and not older than 75 years of age.
Art. 4. In order to validate a randonnee brevet each cyclist must complete a registration form and pay the fee set out by the organizing sporting association in the required times
Art. 5. It is obligatory that the cyclist, before departure, to accept the rules and regulations underwritten with a legible signature on the appropriate form, releasing the organising committee from all responsibility
Art.6. All types of bicycles with chains are permitted to enter the race provided that they are moveable only by human muscular force
Art.7. Each participating cyclists : must take into consideration their personal excursions, respect the road riules and all official road signs, use cycling paths, wear an approved helmet.
Finally, every cyclist must be acquainted with the roads of the course and any roads crossed as they are not patrolled, nor protected by the organising sporting committee of the randonnee brevet. Hence all right of way must be given to all user of the roads with obligation and respecting the fixed roads rules vigorously
Art.8. the organizing sporting body shall not be responsible for any incident which could occur during the time of the organized randonnee brevet
Art.9. For night riding, or in cases where the visibility is not sufficient and satisfactory (atmospheric conditions fog, rain, galleries..) the competing cyclists bicycle must be fixed with both front and rear lighting which are sturdy and operational. Every cyclists is obliged to activate lighting one darkness begins to approach, as well as times of poor visibility and must verify the perfect functionality of their lighting. It is recommended to mount a double lighting system. It is obligatory that each cyclists wear reflective accessories which will assist in their visibility at night and any times where visibility is not sufficient. The organizer prohibits the departure of any cyclists whose system of lighting system does not meet the requirements.
Art.10. Any infraction to the items noted in Art.9 shall lead to the disqualification of the cyclist from the randonnee brevet
Art.11. Each cyclist must supply their own equipment necessary to compete in the randonnee brevet and can only receive assistance at the points controlled by the organising sporting society
Art.12. Every cyclist will receive a race card upon starting the race, indicting the race route/map and check points. At each check point, the cyclist must attain the obligatory controls and validation. Failure to validate, card loss, the display of illegible cards shall involve the disqualification from the randonnee brevet.
Art.13. Validation and/or inspection of the race card shall be carried out at the control points assigned by the organizing sporting society. In the case of a check point not being manned by staff of the organization, the cyclists will need to validate the card in the premises nearest as noted on the card itself
Art.14. The passing of each check point must be made between the opening and closing hours as detailed on the race card. The cyclists must respect these times. Failure to do so can lead to the randonnee brevet being approved even if the cyclist arrives within the maximum time limit.
Art.15. Upon arrival every cyclists must exhibit their race card to a staff member of the organizing sports society in order to have their card check for all validations and accredited.
Art.16 The randonnee brevet is not a competition and does not result in any classifications nor the distribution of prizes
Art.17.The organizing sporting committee shall publish lists of successful brevet receivers in alphabetical order.
Art.18. Disputes from any cyclists can be communicated in writing within 36 hours of the completion of the randonnee brevet addressing the organizing committee who shall examine and communicate with the ARI (Audax Randonneur Italia) before making a final decision
